Partner with Purpose
Purpose-led events can create change that lasts long after the gates close. Through permaculture, Return to the Village brings people together to learn, connect, share practical skills and turn ideas into action.
In April 2027, we’ll bring the permaculture movement together at Woodfordia for a week of learning, connection, celebration and practical action. Our partners will be part of that story, supporting the people, ideas and solutions that can help shape the next 50 years.
From 19–26 April 2027, Return to the Village will transform Woodfordia into a living village of permaculture in action, bringing together practitioners, educators, changemakers and the wider public for the Australasian Permaculture Convergence and Festival Weekend. It’s a rare opportunity for partners to connect with a highly engaged community while helping turn the ideas shaping the next 50 years into action.
From an Australian idea to a global movement.
Fifty years ago, permaculture began with a deceptively simple idea: design human systems that work with nature rather than against it.
Today, its influence can be found in food systems, regenerative agriculture, housing, water, energy, education, community development and ecological restoration around the world.

Permaculture turns sustainability from an idea into practical action. Its whole-systems approach helps people design productive landscapes, healthier soils, resilient food systems, energy-efficient homes and stronger communities while working with, rather than against, natural systems.
Results from a 2024 peer-reviewed study comparing nine permaculture farms with paired conventionally managed agricultural sites in Central Europe.
Invest where it matters.

Turning climate concern into practical action that restores landscapes and builds resilience.

Sharing practical skills for more resilient homes, local food systems and everyday self-reliance.

Creating space for cultural exchange, connection to Country and knowledge that strengthens our relationship with place.

Giving emerging generations the skills, confidence and genuine voice to help lead what comes next.

Growing healthier, more connected communities through practical skills, nature, belonging and shared experience.

Strengthening the relationships, local networks and community capacity that help us adapt and thrive together.
More than an event. A living network.
Connected to a National Movement
Return to the Village sits at the centre of a much larger network. Through Permaculture Australia’s organisational members, ambassodors, leading practitioners, educators, media platforms and community networks — together with the established audience of the Off-Grid Living Festival — the potential reach of this event extends far beyond Permaculture Australia’s own channels.
For our partners, this creates opportunities for connection, storytelling and amplification across an extraordinary ecosystem of people already engaged in permaculture, regeneration, sustainable living, food systems, resilience and positive environmental action.
